The state of NRW subsidizes digitization projects with up to 80%

The funding program Mittelstand Innovativ & Digital, or MID for short, of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports SMEs in the intelligent development and digitization of products, services and production processes.

The MID Digitalization program helps companies to implement intelligent applications in their production and thus address the trend of digitalization in the industry at an early stage.

In order to counteract the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry has increased funding quotas and is thus helping companies emerge stronger from the crisis.

What requirements does the manufacturing company have to meet?

A distinction is made between small and medium-sized enterprises:

Small businesses:

• Employment of less than 50 people
• Annual turnover or balance sheet total of up to €10 million

Medium-sized companies:

• Employment of less than 250 people
• Annual turnover of up to €50 million or balance sheet total of up to €43 million

The thresholds relate to the last annual financial statements carried out.

Due to the Covid-19 effects, the following maximum funding quotas for consulting, development and turnover services apply until 31.12.2020.

For small businesses 80%

For medium-sized companies 60%

The SME Innovative & Digital funding program can be used to increase plant productivity with the help of oee.ai and related consulting support. As a manufacturing company, what do you get in return?

• Training and advice to increase plant productivity
• Using oee.ai to evaluate your OEE and OEE losses in real time for 2 of your systems over a period of 2 months
• Final workshop and presentation of results with a suggestion for further action

All project steps can also be carried out via video conference.

What do you have to contribute as a manufacturing company:

• A project manager to coordinate activities
• 2 pilot plants

The sensors and tablets are installed on the pilot systems without the need for intervention in or control of your systems.
