In addition to his work as a university teacher, Prof. Dr. Markus Focke is also a consultant and start-up founder of oee.ai. He was interviewed in preparation for the company's appearance at #LATC2019 in Mannheim in March 2019.
Here is a short synopsis of the podcast, but it doesn't replace listening:)
Markus begins his presentation by explaining the basics of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as a key figure for true plant productivity and describes the concept using the example of a coffee machine. Although, if studies are to be believed, the key figure is used by 60 to 70% of companies, Markus's experience is that consistent OEE management is more likely to be carried out by 20% of companies.
In the course of the conversation, Markus discusses the technology and licensing model of oee.ai and describes the benefits of the cloud business model for customers.
In the last third of the interview, Markus discusses the future of industrial production management based on his experience both as a professor — and as a founder and consultant. He shares his view of Amazon Alexa, artificial intelligence and how it is used in oee.ai and other aspects of the current development of digitization.
The podcast is an entertaining conversation of less than 30 minutes, which can be listened to on Soundcloud:
The interview was conducted by Jörn Steinbeck, co-founder of oee.ai.
