Note: This article was written when oee.ai was still called oee.cloud. The brand, interface, and range of functions have evolved significantly since then, but the core concepts remain valid.
The 3rd Startup connection from the VDMA in cooperation with UnternehmerTUM and the Center for Digitalization Bavaria took place on June 10, 2018 in Garching. 13 StartUps were invited — and oee.ai also had the opportunity to present itself to a medium-sized audience.
The VDMA had once again activated its network: SMEs from the greater Munich area had come to be presented with various impulses for technological innovations. The program included lectures about working with startups, buying up startups, founding incubators for startups or implementing the start-up working method in industrial companies — and the presentation of startups followed by speed dating.
13 startups presented themselves. oee.ai is now a regular partner of the VDMA at such events. Watch a short version of our contribution in the video:
During the subsequent speed dating, visitors to the event had the opportunity to ask oee.ai about the status of plant productivity using the new Amazon Alexa skill. This was Alexa's first official appearance — a world premiere, so to speak. Alexa did well in answering the questions asked, such as “Alexa, how was the OEE on line 2 yesterday?” or “Alexa, was Line 1 or Line 2 more productive on the morning shift today?” Alexa also mastered regional language characteristics well — thanks to our back-end tech team and the student team at FH-Aachen, who developed the Alexa integration as part of a student-industry cooperation.
The VDMA article on the event, which also includes the presentation documents, can be found here.
The event was accompanied by a visit to Europe's largest tech workshop, the MakerSpace at UnternehmerTUM, and the AppliedAI initiative. Interesting initiatives to promote Germany's competitiveness as a business location.
